Who doesn’t like to wake up early with a view like this? – Sunrise at Tortum Lake
Tortum waterfalls, wonderfull, especially in the morning!
Another view on the Tortum Waterfalls.
The region around Tortum lake is called ‘The Georgian Valleys’ featuring many Georgian churches. I picked the church of Haho to visit myself.
The Georgian church of Haho
I noticed a narrow path following a small water canal leaving the church backyard.
The path brought me through the gardens of the villagers in Haho.
Sometime it was hard to differentiate between the path and the water canal.
A bridge brought me across the river, back to the mainroad, where the small water canal and path continued again on the other side of the valley.
Locals use the path to access their fields and control the amount of water.
These man offered me a cup of tea when I finally had left the water canal to return back to the main road.
Before hitchhiking further to Erzurum I had a fresh kebab in a road restaurant. I chose to had my lunch served in one of their beautiful outdoor rooms.
My ride to Erzurum
